Why does my yz250f backfire

Even then its borderline. Avgas also run very dry in the lube department so i would suggest running an addative to the fuel for some extra lube.

Could it possibly just be that it's adjusting itself in the coolant department since I just added some more to it and it's been sitting for like 8 months? I mean, I guess that is what the overflow is for. If it leaks for a long time when I'm riding, though, it'll be a problem. Problem is, I won't be able to get to a place to ride it until next weekend, and the race is Sunday The coolant coming out the overflow would be due to it heating up, simple expansion of your coolant. It'd be running hotter due to the Avgas, as someone mentioned.

It'd also be running funny due to the Avgas as I mentioned earlier. Also the Avgas being drier has made you have to mix a bit of 2t oil with it, effectively lowering your octane ratio slightly. Alright so I got the numbers, main and 42 pilot.

Considering the circumstances, should I go up a few? Also, check your compression release The Redrider Member. Joined Jun 14, Messages Likes Ryan Matz said:. The Redrider said:. Grab a shop manual and re check everything. During rebuilds, you must always install fresh gaskets on everything you rebuild The should have an auto compression release and not a cable.

Can't remember the specifics but it will be in the shop manual in the area of re-assembly of the top end. If you don't find one then you may have to make one or get the dealer to reset it for you. There are many good videos on Youtube about this. Paw Paw. My bike had crate damage The diag tool plugs into the ecu and displays all of the sensor information. Kawasaki had detailed schematics on where to put each wire.

Then i used my multimeter to read and set the voltage. I would think you can do this on your bike. Might just take some guess and check work to get the voltage reading if Yamaha doesnt have schematics in the service manual. Heres a sketch of what i made. If you don't find one then you may have to make one or get the dealer I turns out the 19 uses model 1. I did some research and saw that people are having luck with increasing the voltage into the. Is that voltage range also applicable for this bike?

Stock voltage was set at. I bumped it up to. Anyone have an idea what the voltage should be for this bike? I have been told that needing the muffler repacked can also cause backfiring because there is not enough back pressure.

Motech Mr. Name Steve. Two biggest causes of deceleration backfiring are exhaust leaks--especially ones closer to the engine--and malfunctioning air injection if equipped , basically anything that introduces unwanted air into the exhaust stream. Tight valve clearance can contribute to this too. Changing from the stock pipe to aftermarket usually causes lean fire. Time to re-jet. No fuel injection on this model. Click to expand Motech said:. How about air injection? Andy said:.

Hi Steve, No there isn't any air injection on the motocross red sticker dirt bikes. There are on the green sticker ones like mine. Thanks Andy. But is that AIR still on your bike??? Thanks for the tips! I think a good carb clean, repacking of the silencer should do the trick.
